Hermie the Hermit Crab

Hermie escaped from his eating bowl a couple of days ago and we looked and looked, but just couldn't find him. So today, Mas and Mommy tore the upstairs bedroom apart until we found him... just sleeping away in the closet behind all the shoes. We were so happy to find him!! He's a good hermit crab, every pet should be as easy as hermie!

Here is Mason with Hermie... the focus is soft because my SS was too low. 1/25, 4.5, ISO 200 And here is Hermie... running from Abby. :) My SS is a little higher in this one, hense the better focus point.

Project 365

Okay, my New Year's Resolution has to do with this very blog!! Exciting huh? It's something called "Project 365"... meaning that I will post a picture everyday for 365 days... Hopefully learning new things along the way... framing, lighting, perspective and timing.

I'm going to continue blogging the kids lives too! I lost a hard drive recently and was glad to see that I could save some of my images from the blog that I would have lost completely... who knew? All that uploading actually was worth something :)

So I need encouragement here people!!! Leave comments! Let me know if I start to miss some days... I promise they won't all be of Mason and Abby!! :)

Happy New Years Everyone!

Baby Alive

Abby is such the mommy these days! If Baby Alive says she's hungry and Abby is looking for the food (yes, sometimes it's hidden). I said I would give her a break from the pictures tonight, but I couldn't help missing this moment. Abby feeding her baby...

Shhhh!! She's going to sleep...
And this one is hilarious... Mason wanted in on the mess (I mean, fun) and Abby was not happy with the way he was feeding her baby. After a while I convinced Mason that playing with his trains was more fun, and he agreed. Posted by Picasa

Mason

Just another shot of Mason... Ae 1/200, 2.8 - new lens. I'm thinking this is a little flat, but I like the feel, when I brightened it up it took away from his expression. So much to learn...

Fun pics of the kiddos...

Yes, I'm going to bore you with more pictures of Mason and Abby :)

I'm having so much fun chasing them around the yard and trying to learn different things about my new camera.
I know this one is brighter than normal... but I kind-of like it this way. I started out practicing with backlight, and ended up throwing in the towel and just brightening up the picture.
Dirty face and all (hense the black and white)... This face says "Are you sure I'll get chocolate if I look at your camera 1 more time?" Posted by Picasa

Build A Bear!

Thank you Aunt Maria and Aunt Sharon!!!

Today we went to Build A Bear in Fair Oaks Mall!! The kids were so excited because they always ask to go in this shop, but we never do. I always have something else to do, but today the only thing was building a brand new animal for them. It was a HUGE treat for them!!

Mason found a bunny rabbit at the end of the line of animals and he never put it down. Once he made his choice there was no going back!! Abby, on the other hand, must have choose each bear at least 6 times. She would pick one up, and then find another, then she saw a tabby kitty, but in the end, the softest puppy in the store won out!! Both the puppy and the bunny are SO SO soft... they made good decisions!
Here they are Abby is stuffing her puppy, putting in the heart and the sound she picked out. (a dog bark) and Mason is dressing his Bunny. He added a sound too... his bunny laughs and giggles.
After they are dressed and combed you go to the computer and give them a name. Mason wanted to name his Bunny "Michael Bunny" and Abby wanted to name her puppy "Bella Puppy". Bella is her new Cheerleading video she got for Christmas... so she is named after the girl in the video. Of course, Mason's is named after Uncle Michael. His favorite track building buddy.
After Build a Bear we met Aunt Chelle at Chick-fil-A and had some yummy chicken. The kids really enjoyed the adventure and the fact that they got everything they wanted for their animals!! Abby bought a pair of jammies for her puppy and a cute little leash. Mason bought a brush and a pair of shoes for Michael Bunny. We had so much fun!! Thank you so much guys!!!!

Pictures with the new Camera!!

Trying to focus on Abby's eyelashes... I could have never done this with my film camera. I love it so much!!

Santa Came!!

Santa came and he brought LOTS of fun presents! We felt like we were opening presents all day long! (it was so much fun)

Mason got lots and lots of Thomas stuff, and Abby's big gift was Baby Alive. The picture above is of Abby checking Baby Alive's diaper (she really makes a stinkey) What a mess!! But, the doll is so interactive, Abby loves it. I also snapped some blackmail shots of Dustin feeding Baby Alive... I'll have to post those on his myspace :)

Christmas Day was a blur! Michael got a new hunting gun and matching knife... every guys dream. Mommy got a new Digital SLR Camera!!!! I was so happy and not expecting such a nice gift from Santa! I love my new camera!!

Papa got a new Smoker for the garage. Mas got a new camera, a beautiful silver braclet, and Mason and Abby bought her a new ring. Really pretty... I should take a picture.

We had a great Christmas this year. The video is so much fun to watch!! The house has been full of new toys, so we will spend the next couple of days trying to find places to put all these new things!! Not a bad problem to have! :)
Christmas Eve!

We spent the evening at Uncle Denny and Aunt Maria's... lots of presents~ Mason and Abby had so much fun!

Here are some pictures from Christmas Eve... Katlyn, Abby, Jake, Mason, Chad and Evan...

Mommy turns 30

We celebrated my birthday tonight at dinner. Mas made a yummy cake and the kids decorated it to perfection... Cake-cake and Lighting McQueen. It was so cute.
We went to dinner at Anthony's and had great food. The kids were good and we all had fun. I wish I had a group picture, but I forgot... PaPa, Mas, Uncle Michael, went too.
We opened presents before we left and I got new Vera Bradley stuff... LOTS of new Vera Bradley stuff... The bucket tote (which I've wanted for months and months), the matching wallet, an ID and keyring for work too! Uncle Michael gave me a CD holder that is just awesome. I love it all!!! Posted by Picasa

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Today we put the ornaments on our Christmas Tree! It was fun going through the ornaments and remembering each ornament as we pulled them out of the box. Mason and Abby had 2 new ornaments to add this year. Mas bought them a Thomas Train ornament and a Barbie Princess ornament! They were so pretty! Here is Abby putting a purse ornament on the tree.

This is one of Abby's favorite decorations! It is a snowglobe of the nativity and it sings "Oh Little Town of Bethlehem"... Honestly, if this thing doesn't end up broken this year it will be a miracle.

Mason's favorite ornament!! The train ornament that plugs into the lights and goes around and round! We put it right at his level... He loves it!

Here is the final product! Notice most of the ornaments are on the bottom of the tree? Well, Mason and Abby just aren't that tall yet and they did most of the decorating :) Didn't they do a great job?

Shep

This is Shep. He is Mas friends kitty cat who needed a place to hang out for a couple of weeks. Since Mas is so good at taking in the poor and needy (aka- me and my kids) she gave him a place to live for a while. Shep and Puddle are just starting to be friends and play (in the middle of the night) and he is just making himself at home! Now that he's used to kids chasing him all the time it's almost time to go home. :( This poor cat will be so happy when he gets home!!

The Christmas Parade

This year we drove the bus to the Christmas Parade!! We had to take the Battlefield band to their drop-off location and pick them up after they were done. Mason and Abby were so excited to watch them in the Parade and then get to see them get on OUR bus to go home! You would have thought they were celebrities! Abby loved these horses!! We promised her, Horses, Cheerleaders, and Bands... she got to see all 3, so she was happy.

Bath Time Pics!

Mommy grabbed the camera for one of our baths! I was trying to take pictures of them with bubbles in their hair, but they skipped the bubbles and went right for the smiles!! I love it when they are in picture taking moods!!!!! I also love this shot of Mason!
