Wild and Wonderful West Virginia!

This weekend we went to visit Aunt Tharon and Uncle Bubble (Sharon and Noble for those of you not in the immediate family) :) Oh, we had a great time!! Mason and Abby didn't take long to settle in, once they found the Sprinkler and the Fruit Roll-Ups they were at home!

Uncle Bubble took them on a "hayride" on his tractor, and made us a delicious dinner on the grill. Thank you Bubble!!

Mason found a "new" favorite cartoon... Tom and Jerry! He loved it, and I'm afraid we are going to have to find some old videos for him to watch... he keeps asking for them, but I don't think they even come on here where we live. :(

Relaxing in Uncle Bubbles chair after running around in the sprinkler...

Aunt Sharon had ice cream cups for dessert and a HUGE jacuzzi tub!! So, before bed the kids got to get in the big bubble bath and they had a blast! They are going to be so bored with our tub here at home now! Where are the bubbles and jets???

We can't wait to go back once the leaves start to change color, it is going to be beautiful! The view already is wonderful...

On the way home we ran into traffic and it took forever to get off of 66. Mason read the map for us and gave us some weather updates too! According to him, we had to drive through the mud, and over the green bridge to get home. Maybe he'll be a traffic reporter when he gets older!

Thank you for having us Tharon and Bubble!! You made everything so nice and cozy. The kids will be talking about this weekend for a long time :) We love you!!

More pictures from the Fair...

So Thursday night was the Demolition Derby!!! Mason and Abby had no idea what to expect, but once they started crashing all over the place... Mason was in heaven!
He was one happy boy!!!!!!

And of course they took another couple turns on their FAVORITE rides!

Abby was just at 3ft... If I can remember I'd like to take a picture of them standing at one of these every year. Wouldn't that be a cute scrapbook page!?!! Maybe next year Mason will cooperate and smile for the camera!

Prince William County Fair...

I'm not sure if I want to brag that we attended the local fair this weekend. By the looks of the "type" of people that were there, I'm afraid to even mention that we went.... Not just one day, but yes, both days this weekend.

Abby loves corndogs! She finished this one while we watched the Pet Show. We had to leave about 5 minutes into the show though, because Abby just kept crying that she wanted to "pet" the pets that were in the show. It just didn't go over very well, and we felt like we were torturing her by making her watch the cute cats and kittens and not be able to touch them. So we went to see the Farm Animals... and she pet them.

The kids loved the Merry Go Round.

We got face paints by the girls at the 4-H tent.

Abby got a heart...and Mason got a Nemo Fish. This was the all-time favorite ride. :) I think they rode it a total of 4 times and it just got more and more fun each time.A close second was the boat ride. The person running the ride would actually take her hand and splash the kids with water when they came around the circle. It was the funniest thing to watch the kids reaction to her! Some of them were pissed, and others (like our kids) LOVED it!!! This is Mason and Abby trying to dodge her splash.

Overall, we had fun. The weather was awesome and the food was yummy. We have passes for Thursday too, The demolition derby starts at 7!!

Healthy Check-ups at the Doctors!

This morning Mason and Abby had yearly check-ups with Dr. Chambers. This was the first time we've seen Dr. Chambers, but he was GREAT. Mommy's Doctor recommended him for children (he is just a General Doctor) and she was right... he was great with the kids! He even has his own 18 month old daughter. Mommy and Daddy were impressed!!

Mason weighed 38lbs which put him in the 90% for weight, and he was 3 ft. 5 in. which puts him in the 95% for height. All very good! Dr. Chambers made sure he was asking "why?" and following instructions. He passed the test because he is a very good listener and very good at asking "why?" all the time. He is also playing well with Abby and that was very important. Everything looked good, and his shots were all up to date, so he got off really lucky today.

Abby was 33lbs (90%) and 3ft (90%)... Dr. Chambers said she was "perfectly proportioned". She is offically potty trained and doing great. The Dr. made sure she is working with puzzles and playing well with Mason. She opened her mouth really big to let him look at her throat, and was so cooperative! She had to get 3 shots at the end. 2 in her legs and 1 in her arm... Mommy took Mason outside and Daddy stayed with Abby. He said she was a big girl and only cried for the last shot in her arm.

After our visit we headed over to Toys R Us for some treats. Abby is all about cooking food so she got some more plastic food (oh boy, I love picking all those pieces up). Mason needed a gas tank for his Jeeps and ride-on toys. :)

House of Bounce!

Today we went to a new place called House of Bounce with Daddy. It was lots of fun! The entire place is HUGE and full of moon bounce slides and moon bounce castles. Mason made a new friend and they were so cute together, they would wait for each other and go down the slides... it was really cute to watch him interact with other kids and make new friends.

We still haven't made it to the water park yet... it is just so hot outside we'd rather be in the AC!! One of these days I'll have some water park pictures :) Posted by Picasa

Slip 'N Slide!

Well, summer is coming to an end in "Retail land" and Target has all the summer fun stuff for 75% off!! Today, we bought a slip 'n slide for $2.48! Whoo-hoo!

The kids had so much fun running down the slide and got faster and faster each time they went down. Towards the end Mason wanted some swim goggles since the water kept getting in his eyes! He would run to me and wipe his entire wet face on my shirt. (Thanks Mason)
Check back tomorrow... we have a trip to the water park on the calendar!! I love summertime!!! Posted by Picasa
